Grad Night is a parent-planned, safe and sober celebration for the Class of 2019 with music, dancing, entertainment, interactive games, food, activities, and prizes all while cruising the San Francisco Bay on a Commodore Cruises Yacht!

Tuesday, October 30 is the final order day for caps/gowns and graduation announcements.  Orders may be turned in outside the Commons during lunch ONLY on 10/30.  All seniors who have not yet placd their grad order must do so at this time.  You may also order online at Jostens.com by October 30.

Josten's will be stationed outside the Commons during brunch & lunch on tomorrow, Tuesday October 23 to collect orders from juniors & seniors.  You can also order online through Jostens.com.

 

Caps and gowns are not available on a rental basis; they are purchased through Jostens.  Prices start at $27.75 for a cap, gown, and tassel package and increase according to the extras and options you choose.  Purchased caps and gowns are suitable for use as hand-me-downs for siblings, etc.

"Close-Knit Family" Elaine Park Grade 10 State of CA Winner of the Doodle4Google

 

Elaine Park, a 10th grade artist at Dougherty Valley High School, has won the California Doodle4Google and is now the running to be a National Finalist!  Elaine was one of 200,000+ designs. Elaine was honored at a surprise awards assembly on May 3rd, where 150 students gathered, along with her parents, teachers and administrators.

 

Voting is LIVE!

 

Help support Elaine’s artwork by voting for her design and sharing doodle4google.com on all of your social media networks!!!  As a national finalist, Elaine has the chance to win a college scholarship, and DVHS would win a tech grant! Voting is Unlimited so vote early and often!

This contest is open to students in grades 9-12 and the theme is: "The 14th Amendment 150 years after ratification:  What does equal protection mean to students?"  Students are challenged to write an essay or produce a video focusing on how Congress and the federal courts have applied the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment to public education, whether in admissions, classroom instruction or athletics,  See atttachment for more information.
