UNICEF Activity: Ruby's Place/BAWAR Drive



Ruby’s Place is a domestic shelter for women and children in Hayward and BAWAR is an organization that aims to create a more welcoming environment for the victims of rape and sexual assault. Any 3 of the following items that you donate to the cause will be considered 1 UNICEF point, although more donations are welcome. A donation box will be in Sakkis’ room (1220) from October 7th to October 21st. In order for you point to be considered valid, you must enclose all donations in a sealed bag with your name, grade, and “UNICEF” labeled on the front. Feel free to contact Rabail Abbas or Erin Ku if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.


List of needed donations:

  • Tampons
  • Bar Soap (they love Dove)
  • Women’s razors
  • Hairbrushes
  • Shampoo and conditioner
  • Deodorant 
  • Q-tips/cotton swabs
  • Size 5 and 6 diapers, not pull-ups
  • Baby wipes 
  • Twin blankets as winter approaches!
  • Binders
  • Pens and pencils
  • post it notes
  • markers, sharpies, colored sharpies, highlighters
  • white out
  • paper clips
  • notebooks
  • notebook paper
  • tissue / kleenex
  • thick paper for art projects 
  • scissors 
  • squishers (like stress balls, in the toy section)
  • New clothing for teenagers (we can't accept any used clothing, this can be sale stuff from Target or Forever 21, etc. It needn't be costly)
