Background:

I am an East Bay native, growing up in Berkeley, Albany, El Cerrito, and Richmond.  I am the son of Argentinean immigrant parents.  I have been playing drums and basketball my entire life.  While living in Los Angeles during my college years, my high school rock band got signed to an independent label where we played all over LA.  We eventually toured the US in two cars -- a dream come true.  As for basketball, I currently play in an Oakland adult league.  I am a music fanatic and also enjoy making beats.

 

Teaching/Educational Philosophy:

I am rooted in providing rigorous, critical thinking, entertaining, engaging, and culturally responsive lessons. My passion for teaching comes from wanting to resolve the injustices in the world by providing multiple perspectives that in turn help my students mature. The first time I thought of being a teacher was during a visit to Argentina.  There I saw a slum only a quick ten minute drive from the wealthiest neighborhood in Buenos Aires.  I wanted to learn how this came to be, how can this be changed, and how can I help. I want all of my students to leave my classroom motivated with empathy and knowledge.  My goal is to get them to love the subjects I teach and to work hard for success.
