BACKGROUND: This is my third year at DVHS. I have worked with students in many capacities, both locally, nationally, and abroad. I have been a youth leader, coach, camp counselor, and I am eager to work alongside the students at Dougherty Valley High School. As a student I completed all of my pre-college education in the San Ramon Unified School District, which is why I am excited to be back here-this time as a teacher. As a videographer, I have shot around the world and have had footage featured on PBS.

TEACHING/EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY: Technology is an essential element in my classroom instruction. Student’s today use the Internet, video and music electronics, cell phones and more on a regular basis. As such, I try to incorporate elements of technology in each lecture, project, and lesson plan that I create. I will continue to use innovative and engaging methods of instruction so that the students remain engaged in the subject matter, in addition to upholding the state and school’s high academic standards, so that the students will receive a relevant and quality education. I believe that today’s students need an education that is relevant, innovative, and applicable in our ever-changing world. Today’s students are tomorrow’s leaders and as such, they need an education that will challenge them academically, while instilling values and an awareness of the world around them.

PERSONAL NOTES: I am married and I have a 3 year old son and 1 year old daughter! I spend my free time with them and I enjoy playing guitar, traveling, videography, and the great outdoors.
